Who We Are

Ishigaki Island Tours is a locally operated tour company offering personal, English-guided experiences across Ishigaki.
We specialize in private and small-group tours designed for cruise visitors and international travelers who want to explore the island comfortably, efficiently, and without stress.

Our Story

Ishigaki Island Tours was created from a very personal beginning.
After moving to Ishigaki from Europe, we had the chance to welcome our parents to the island.
We wanted them to experience the very best of Ishigaki — not just the famous places, but the feeling of the island itself.
We planned a day for them with care, thinking about what would make it comfortable, meaningful, and memorable.
And in the end, it became exactly that — a day they truly enjoyed, and a memory we all still share.
Soon after, we began doing the same for friends and other international families visiting Ishigaki.
Their parents, too, experienced the island in a way that felt personal and relaxed — and their reactions told us we were onto something special.
That’s how Ishigaki Island Tours began.
Not just visiting places, but creating experiences that people can genuinely enjoy and remember.

Meet Your Guide

Your guide, Sander, brings a unique perspective to your journey.
Originally from Europe and now based in Ishigaki, he combines a deep understanding of local culture with an international point of view.
Friendly, approachable, and easy to talk to, he creates a comfortable atmosphere where guests can simply enjoy the day at their own pace.
I’m a westerner who was drawn to Ishigaki and never left.
Living here with my Japanese wife and children, I spend most days on the sea or in the mountains, in tune with the island’s vibes.
I see Ishigaki through both the fresh eyes of an outsider and the insight of a local.
I love sharing moments where travelers of all ages feel like kids again—stepping beyond the familiar frames, rediscovering what truly matters, and heading home with the same smile this island once gave me.
